Kirshon Paint began in February, 1946 by brothers Russell, Abe, and Martin Kirshon after they served their country in World War II. They started the store at 124 Pearl Street the same location where the business currently stands. The entrepreneurial brothers began with paint, later adding wallpaper and window shades. They had great personalities and were admired and respected by their customers. The brothers added more space by buying the stores on both sides and expanding depth and inventory. In 1979, Abe's son, Barry, joined the team and between 1982 and 1993, the brothers retired. Barry, now owner and president, has operated the business with same philosophy and strategy that made the Kirshon brothers successful for over 40 years. "The customer is number one!"
